Is the brake able to be used multiple times? After installation, will the terminal box be easily accessible? For OEM machine builders, these questions are critical for deciding whether or not a compact drive is a viable production component.

The valuable beginning point is the full operating cycle and not motor power only. Determine the loaded running, Aceleración, Detenerse, reverse and idle times before choosing the gearbox together with the motor. This method not only links the mechanical package but also the electrical cabinet and the machine's real production requirements.

Select the Gear around the Operating Cycle

Right angle refers to the right angle between the motor and output axis and is not an indication of one transmission technology. El K series helical bevel gear motor from Mingye is a combination of helical gear motor and bevel gear motor, y la Motor de engranajes sin fin helicoidales de la serie S is a combination of helical gear motor and worm gear motor. Another compact size worm drive is the RV series.

When comparing these families, running hours and load variation, space and thermal conditions should be taken into consideration. A packaging conveyor under load is different from a mechanism that moves for a short period for long periods of time. Request a proposed full assembly and associated ratings and not presume that all the motor options will fit all gearbox families.

Check the Electrical Supply Prior to Freezing the Design

State the supply voltage, Frecuencia, phase arrangement and intended starting method before approving the motor. Two matching kilowatt ratings do not mean that the equipment is electrically compatible. The motor connection, rated current and operating speed shall have the same as the actual supply and control arrangement.

El three phase induction motor line provided by Mingye is merely a starting point for buyers to talk about motor specifications, and the geared assembly that has been selected still needs to be confirmed. Details of supply should be entered in the order specification and nameplate documentation and approved. If the machine is to be exported, make sure that the destination supply is sorted out before releasing the mounting drawing or ordering of the electrical cabinet.

Set the Gear Ratio and Speed Window Together

Choose the reduction ratio in the speed band in which the machine will be used most frequently. Como ejemplo, if the motor is operating at 1,440 rpm and it is connected to a 40:1 Reducción, then the output speed is about 36 rpm. This arithmetic only determines the speed: the power, the transmission losses and the limits of the selected transmission unit determine the available output torque.

The use of a frequency inverter, which reduces the motor speed, can increase the process flexibility, but does not eliminate such limitations. Consider the minimum loaded speed, maximum gearbox input speed and acceleration requirement all in one. If the operators regularly require high torque at low speed, then the drive that has been chosen for nominal production may be doing a poor job.

Do not consider frequency above the base frequency as "free" additional capacity. Both the torque that is available from the motor and the maximum speed permitted by the gearbox should be checked. Set up a window of operation that is acceptable and agree to that window; don't leave unrestricted window to commissioning personnel.

Cooling at the Slowest Loaded Speed

Low speed should have a thermal review separate, as for shaft mounted motor fan, the fan will turn slower when the motor slows. This therefore requires a cooling arrangement which may be different for long periods of loaded crawling vs. short periods of setting up for movement. Gears losses also add heat, especially if a significant thermal load is placed on the selected gear transmission and duty.

Mingye's YVF variable frequency motor is a relevant topic to discuss in the variable speed machinery application since it has its own cooling fan. It will need to be confirmed for its suitability and mechanical fit and installation with a specific right angle reducer. Check fan supply, available fan ventilation and temperature at the slowest sustained production condition of the machine (not just full speed).

State Exactly What the Brake is to Do

Requirements for stopping a moving load and holding a stationary load will differ. Explain separately the concept of normal stopping, emergency behaviour, power loss, restart. Thermal duty is also a factor due to repeated stopping and a brake cannot be determined just by the static load torque reflected through the gearbox.

Mingye provides YEJ electromagnetic brake motor as one of its motor products. Explain the need for a braking function and if a suitable braking function is available with the selected reducer. Par de frenado, engagement/release characteristics, electric supply and allowable operating frequency should be part of that discussion.

The deceleration ramp of a frequency inverter does not mean that the machine will be safely held if the power is cut off. De forma similar, it is not reliable to take for granted that a worm transmission will serve as a reliable holding device. If movement may pose a danger, the machine designer needs to specify the stopping/holding provisions for the entire machine.

Check the Space Around the Complete Assembly

Gearbox outline is not enough for approval to be installed. The assembled drive could be determined to fit by the motor fan cover, terminal box, cable entry and any brake extension. Provide for wiring access, lubrication checks and future removal, particularly when located within a conveyor frame or behind guarding.

The mounting drawing should indicate the "as installed" direction of the mounting and the driven connection. Check with supplier for correct lubricant arrangement and if required, reaction supports. Cable routing should avoid moving parts and service areas and cooling air should not be trapped in front of a panel. For a compact installation to be a success, the technician needs to be able to work on it without having to dismantle other equipment.

Enjoy a Drive as One System!

Prior to production, check wiring and settings with motor and drive approved production documentation. Use a controlled procedure to check rotation and gradually add load. Monitor for current, temperature trends; vibration and stopping conditions within the agreed operating range and at the lowest loaded speed and repeated operating cycles.

Document acceptable settings and baseline observations for maintenance personnel. If you have a need to a right angle geared motor when contacting Mingye, you can put the production cycle, supply details, output requirements and installation drawing together. This provides the supplier a better foundation on which to make an assembly suggestion and the mechanical and electrical teams can agree on the same drive configuration.

Preguntas frecuentes

P2: Are all right angle gears worm drive?

Both helical bevel and worm based type right angle output arrangements are available from No. Mingye. The application's duty and installation requirements determine the selection of the transmission.

P2: Is it possible to make any motor to work at low speed continually?

Do not assume so. If low speed continuous loaded operation is to be performed, a confirmation of motor cooling, torque and thermal suitability of a gearbox should be obtained.

P3: Can a variable frequency motor be used on all the reducers?

No. Check with the supplier that motor frame, connection arrangement and complete assembly specification is correct. The fact that an electrical fit is not a mechanical fit.

P4: Will an electromagnetic brake provide instant stop?

NO, it depends on brake performance and inertia of loads and the order of brake application. Specify the needed stopping time/operating duty prior to selection.

P5: What does a quotation need to include for it to be more useful?

Include output speed, Par de carga, Ciclo de trabajo, power supply and installation information. Add in the necessary speed range and braking system so that the intended assembly will satisfy the entire operating task.
